From the Secretary
"your gentle redneck
scribe"
I would like to thank everyone who came out on the holiday week to attend our last Stated Communication. Our speaker was R.W. Carl Pippin, Sr. who brought us an excellent message on Independence Day . Thank you Bro. Carl for educating and entertaining us.
I also want to
thank our Officers, Past Masters, members and friends Prince George Masonic
Lodge on their continued support that makes each Masonic Year by this Lodge a
little bit better. There
are many great men who have been and are Masons. I believe that their positive
impact on our society is a direct result of the Masonic principles they learned
and practiced. Non-masons may not see the relationship, but it is self evident
to those of us who are Free and Accepted Masons. However, all Masons, who are
dedicated to the Craft, impact society everyday. Through our support of
education, widows, orphans, our Country, our neighbors, and our Lodge we can
and do make a positive impact everyday. Your attendance to our Lodge meetings
and other events throughout the Masonic year is greatly needed, wanted, and
appreciated. I have repeatedly said over the years; some of the best people I
know I’ve met through Masonry. If you need transportation, please don’t hesitate
to call the Worshipful Master, Secretary or any other officer.
Also we are looking forward to the E.P. Henry Masonic School of Instruction at the Petersburg Masonic Temple August 23rd, 24th and 25th starting at 7:00 p.m. each night.
As
promised, I have sent the names of our Brethren who are delinquent in their
dues to our Grand Master. These Brethren can look forward to receiving a letter
from Most Worshipful Rorer, Grand Master of Masons in Virginia. If you have any
questions concerning this matter please contact me. If you are going through
some hard times and do not have the ability to pay, please contact the
Worshipful Master. We value each member and enjoy your fellowship but to be a
Mason, you need to remain current in your dues.
Remember our Grand Master’s proclamation to observe Masonic Recognition Day on the first day of the month. This can be accomplished by wearing a Masonic lapel pin, a hat with a Masonic emblem, belt buckle and etc.
"Nice lag" can usually be translated to "lousy putt." Similarly, "tough break" can usually be translated "way to miss an easy one, buddy."
No matter how bad my last shot was, the worst is yet to come. This does not expire on the 18th hole, since it has the supernatural tendency to extend over the course of a tournament, a summer and, eventually, a lifetime.
Brand new golf balls are water-magnetic. Though this cannot be proven in the lab, it is a known fact that the more expensive the golf ball, the greater its attraction to water.
