From the East
As July comes to a close, we all must be looking for some relief
from the heat. This month has seen record temperatures and heat indexes. Good
ole mother earth has been and still continues to take a beating. Water being a
resource which is so precious is being depleted without replenishment from the
heavens. Tend to this resource and use it wisely as we would never understand
just how our ancestors felt during drought and famine conditions.
The month of August will be Junior Warden’s night and J. Robert Loftis will conduct the stated meeting. Robert came to
Prince George No 115 in April 2007 and has been an active member assisting and
aiding with projects our lodge has been involved with. He has a wonderful
family that supports his Masonic endeavors. Robert has always been willing to
help out wherever he can so let’s show him our support and come out for our
August stated meeting.
Also at our August stated we will recognize four brothers who will
be presented with their 25-year Masonic veterans certificates. Most Worshipful
Fredrick Garrison Martin III, Grand Master of Masons in Virginia 2003 will
preside and award these masons their pins. Recipients are: Boyd Gordon Griggs
Jr, Charles Roth Gunther Jr, Larry Douglas Dingas
and, Jerry Dewayne Matlock. Again I ask you to come out and congratulate these
fine brothers on such a special occasion.
Finally brethren I am interested in finding out just how many
would be attending a Prince George Ladies night. I have asked of RW Jimmy
Tomko, RW Carl Pippin, Wor Roy Pugh and, Bro Joey
Collins to make up the committee responsible for planning and implementing such
an event. Prince George No 115 has not had an evening planned for the ladies
and our widows in several years so I thought it would be good to have an
evening to show just how much we appreciate them and all that they do and stand
for in Masonry. Currently we are looking at a Saturday evening in September so
if you have any input, please give it to one of your committee members. It sure
would be nice to get an idea of just how many would be interested in
attending.
Fraternally Yours,
L. Joseph Hudson

Brethren,
I would first like to thank everyone who helped with the Pork Butt sale. We
sold 50 Butts and had a wonderful time cooking as the weather was
wonderful. Speaking about the weather remember to stay cool and drink
plenty of water as it has been very hot and dehydration can set in quickly so
be safe. August stated is Junior Warden’s night, so come out and meet the
brethren for an outstanding dinner. We have the best cooks around and
they are to be commended for the long hours and work they do before we even
arrive to eat. We will be honoring our brethren who have served as masons
for 25 years. Look forward to seeing you at our August stated.
