The reenactment of the funeral of J.T. Morriss, founder of J.T. Morriss Funeral Home, was held Saturday, May 6, 2006. J.T. Morriss had been a member of Petersburg Lodge No. 15, Petersburg Union Royal Arch Chapter No. 7, and Appomattox Commandery No. 6. The funeral reenactment included Masonic funeral rites conducted by Petersburg Lodge No. 15 with participation by the Commandery and other area masons.

The funeral procession enters historic Blandford Church through lines formed by the Appomattox Commandery.

After a reenactment of the service inside Blandford Church, the funeral moves to the graveside.

A Masonic graveside funeral service was conducted. In addition to area masons, the Sons of the Confederate Veterans (right) participated in the reenactment.
